Why we only use recycled gold
Most "ethical" jewelry brands still use newly mined gold. We don't.

Recycled gold has the same chemical composition as new gold. The difference is in the supply chain.
New gold mining produces 20 tonnes of waste per gram of gold. It pollutes water tables, displaces communities, and is responsible for over 38% of global mercury emissions.
Every piece in our collection uses gold that has been melted down from existing jewelry, dental scrap, or industrial recovery. The chemistry is identical. The footprint is not.
We do not get a sustainability premium for this. We just don't see the alternative as acceptable.
